Recognizing and Combating Workplace Burnout: A Guide for Employees

Challenges: The upper management team of an information technology company called Cloud Engineering Solutions is concerned, as many employees reported feeling worn out and unproductive in a recent workplace well-being survey. Additionally, data collected from exit interviews indicates the company's employee wellness program is not sufficiently resourced to meet workers' needs.

Solutions: Cloud Engineering Solutions requested a learning solution that would teach employees how to distinguish the difference between stress and burnout, as well as provide research-based strategies to improve well-being. An instructor-led training designed for in-person delivery was selected as the learning solution due to the sensitive nature of the topic and to help foster connections across teams. The training is designed to be presented by a human resources professional as part of Cloud Engineering Solutions' expanding employee wellness program.

Results: By empowering employees to recognize the signs of burnout and implement concrete strategies to improve their overall well-being, the company takes a measurable step toward its goals of improving employee wellness, increasing job satisfaction and productivity, and retaining a higher percentage of workers.
